Welcome

Retired! In memorium for Sunday Shinny which ran from 2013 to 2025. Thanks for your support. We got a generation of kids on the ice!

Sunday Shinny Youth Club was a volunteer based non-profit community club that organizes weekly shinny hockey games for youth in mid-town Toronto.

We welcomed everyone! And especially youth not playing more serious hockey elsewhere. Our target group was girls and boys aged 8-14. No hockey experience was required. If you could skate, you could play. We played shinny hockey, which means it was a friendly non-competitive game played without full pads. All you needed were skates, stick, and a CSA helmet with face mask.

We played outside in the bright sunshine on Sunday afternoons (from 2:30pm to 3:30pm), starting in early December and running until early March (until the ice melts!). We played in Ramsden Park, right across from the Rosedale Subway station on Yonge at Pears Ave. There was parking on Pears Ave and Ramsden Park Road. The rink had a heated changing room and an additional skating rink for the non-hockey players in your family. We encourage everyone to bring the whole family down!

The cost-share was about $60 per player for the season. Registration was required to play.

Our goal was to give our young kids the opportunity to play a little hockey outside in the winter sunshine. Shinny hockey is always pretty fun, and it was super nice for them not to have to play indoors in a cold arena at 7am!

Thanks for your support of Sunday Shinny!

Thanks,

Rob and Melissa
